Jacqui has always been fascinated with everything art related from the moment she could hold a pencil. From drawing to painting to graphic design, she knew she wanted to use her creative skills in her job somehow when she grew up.

Fast-forward to when she’s 18 and starting college life at Kent State University: She’s majoring in Visual Communication Design (graphic design), but in her second to last semester she finds it hard to find a graphic design firm that is hiring. In a panicked state, she asked her fiance if he would think she went crazy if she suddenly started trying out cake design. Smiling, he said yes, but that he’d always known she was crazy.

With no idea what to expect, Jacqui went out to get some basic cake supplies and try her hand out in the world of cake decorating. With the combination of her design background, baking experience and a touch of perfectionism, she caught on quickly. Jacqui realized how much FUN this new hobby was, and that one of the most satisfying parts of the process is getting to see customer’s reactions to her cake creations. Inspired, she continued making cakes for family and friends. She graduated in December 2008 with her degree in graphic design and a vision of running a cake business of her own.

thanks! and thanks for the watch! :D
Your story sounds very much like mine! I look forward to seeing more of your work.
I think your cakes and cupcakes are amazing. I hope you open up a cake shop/business. If you were in my area, I would get one! Do they taste as good as they look?
haha! thank you! and it's funny you should ask that...because on the homepage of my website:

it sort of answers your question ;)
Oh, cool! I didn't know you had a website. And yes, it answered my question! I WAS disappointed to see that mailing cupcakes doesn't work.
actually! since then, i have tried it again (same method of packing, only i don't put the icing on top, i fill the inside of the cupcakes with it and put fondant on top (like the LOST cupcakes, so its flat on top) and before i close the plastic clamshell case, i put 1 sheet of wax paper down in the middle so the cupcakes can't jumble around during shipping, and it WORKS! i sent the wizard of oz ones to california (also, i shipped UPS that time, not USPS. i think they took better care of it!) and they got there just perfect! so, i learned from that 1st experience hahaha :) glad you like the website! yeah i haven't advertised it too much on here yet, so feel special because you're the first one to know! hahaha ;)
I really like your work. Your photography and design skills are awesome.
Thank you very, very much! :D
